Amazon’s spring sale kicks off this week, with discounts on thousands of items from March 25-31. However, popular homecare brand Shark is tempting customers with its rival Spring Clean Sale, which has seen a £160 price drop on the Stratos cordless vacuum cleaner.
The Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Pet Pro Cordless Vacuum is now on sale at £288, a hefty £161.99 discount from the usual £449.99. Those preferring to stick with Amazon can pick up the Corded Stratos Vacuum for £205, while the Cordless Stratos without the Pet Pro feature is £249.
Shark says the Stratos boasts the brand’s ‘best ever hair pick-up’ on both carpet and hard floors thanks to its anti-hair wrap plus technology, which removes long and short hair from the brush roll during cleaning. The Pet Pro version includes Shark’s motorised pet tool, designed to extract embedded hair from upholstery, making it an ideal choice for pet owners.
The Stratos has LED headlights and Shark’s Clean Sense IQ function, which detects hard-to-see dirt and automatically adjusts its cleaning power, resulting in up to 50% more dirt pick-up, according to the brand. The vacuum also features a ‘Flexology’ wand, enabling it to bend under furniture and fold for easy storage.
The Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has earned a solid 4.5-star rating after more than 600 reviews, beating the 4.4-rated Dyson V8 Absolute, which is £100 off at £249.99 and touted as the brand’s ‘most versatile’ V8 model but with a shorter 40-minute runtime. Amazon offers a more affordable option with the £129.99 Smoture Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, boasting a 4.8-star rating and a 55-minute runtime, but is without a specially designed pet tool.
Of the Stratos, one satisfied customer said: “I needed something that would effectively renew my carpets and get rid of the cat hair that my vacuum seemed to struggle with and I can honestly say I am so impressed. I always thought Dyson were the hands-down winners of [vacuums] but this absolutely tops them all.
“My carpets look amazing, like they are new again, and the smell that comes from the anti-odour compartment is amazing. Makes housework much more satisfying and having two batteries with a charger pack means I’m never without charge.”
Another said: “Mind blown. I have three cats and two Labradors. With [my] Henry I found myself going over and over one spot to get the hair up and even then it wouldn’t. First stroke [with the Shark] it picks up every hair on my carpet.
“I was amazed. The suction is out of this world, I cannot believe it. I never thought I would rid my house of pet hair. If you have pets or problems with pet hair, look no further.”
A third thrilled buyer said: “An excellent vacuum cleaner, the suction and cleaning job work brilliantly. Anti hair wrap is a dream with a 24/7 shedding dog. I love the lights on the front. Batteries charge pretty quickly, I can do the whole bungalow on one battery so far. It folds away almost out of sight when done too.”
However, the same customer noted an issue with the vacuum’s design, adding: “The fact it doesn’t stand on its own, and you have to take the wand off to empty the bucket, which fills up delightfully quickly with more dust and dirt than you knew you had.”
The Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Pet Pro Cordless Vacuum is now available for £288 at the Shark website. Alternatively, those preferring to shop with Amazon can pick up the Corded Stratos Vacuum for £205, while the Cordless Stratos without the Pet Pro feature is £249.
